The lodge is nestled within a beautiful three-acre site, which is home to resident pygmy goats and chickens, enhancing the rustic charm of this idyllic setting.
The lodge boasts an extensive garden area that is perfect for outdoor relaxation and entertainment. Guests can take advantage of the private hot tub, BBQ facilities, and fire pit, all situated in a large stoned garden area ideal for alfresco dining. Conveniently located just ten minutes from the historic city of Canterbury, Oak Lodge is also accessible via bus routes to nearby attractions like the seaside town of Whitstable and the charming village of Sandwich. Families can enjoy a day at Howletts Wild Animal Park or Wingham Wildlife Park, both of which are located within a few miles of the cabin. The sounds of lions, monkeys, and elephants from Howletts add a unique backdrop to the serene environment of the lodge, making it a memorable experience for all guests. The area is also home to cultural highlights, such as the Canterbury Roman Museum and Marlowe Theatre, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy during their stay.
For added convenience, Oak Lodge is equipped with central heating, and clean linen and towels are provided for guests. Private parking is available for two vehicles, and guests are welcome to bring their own firewood or purchase it on-site. Check-in is available after 3 PM, with a check-out time of 10 AM. While one-night bookings may be considered, a minimum three-night stay is required during bank holidays. It is important to note that the lodge is situated in a quiet, rural setting, making it unsuitable for loud parties, and the maximum occupancy of five people must be strictly adhered to. For larger groups or if Oak Lodge is unavailable, Bramble Lodge, an almost identical cabin, is located just 70 meters away, providing additional accommodation options.
