Start your holiday with a wander around Saundersfoot, where shops, pubs and eateries are right on your doorstep; popular with families, Saundersfoot Beach is the closest to Smugglers Cottage to grab an ice cream from the truck and settle on the sand. Dogs must be kept on a lead around the harbour and are banned from the southern half of the beach between 1st May and 30th September, whilst the rest of the beach is dog-friendly! Coppet Hall Beach and Monkstone Beach are two other spectacular beaches with stretches of sand perfect for games, paddling in the shore and soaking up the sun. Take a short journey south to spend the day in Tenby, a bustling harbour town with a scenic golf club, the idyllic Tenby North Beach, along with plenty of history to discover at Tudor Merchant's House and the remains of Tenby Castle overlooking St Catherine's Island. Further afield lies the picturesque Pembroke town, home to a magnificent castle, Monkton Old Hall and plenty of pubs for well-earned pints overlooking Mill Pond. If you're seeking the renowned beaches of Pembrokeshire, head south of Pembroke to find the likes of Barafundle Bay Beach with its sparkling, sandy shoreline and the St Govans Head, where budding historians can discover Saint Govan's Chapel that was once home to a hermit in the 6th century. Milford Haven lies a little further west with plenty of fish and chip shops to enjoy along the busy waterfront, catch a performance at the renowned Torch Theatre, or lace up your walking boots and explore more of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Venture along breath-taking coastlines scattered with wonders, try your hand at a variety of watersports and spot a variety of wildlife on your way. Smugglers Cottage is a brilliant base to explore this stunning area of Wales.
