Scale House is an imposing, lovingly restored, Grade II listed country home dating back to the late 1500s, which retains many of its original period features whilst boasting an eco-friendly biomass heating system, all set in private woodland and nestled within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, located in Rylstone, just a few minutes by car in either direction of Skipton and Grassington. Sleeping 20 guests over three floors with nine bedrooms and boasting outstanding features and breath-taking views, this property is ideal for a large gathering of family or friends to celebrate a special occasion or enjoy some quality time in total comfort in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Make your way through the entrance gates; you'll feel like royalty as you venture along the private drive to this grand property, where outside the main house, you will find ample parking for ten cars. The courtyard area has a separate gym/yoga room with a selection of gym equipment, and a fabulous sauna all provided to create the perfect environment to stay healthy and enjoy the ultimate relaxing holiday! Once parked, enter a stunning entrance hall, showcasing the original hand-carved staircases, a glistening crystal chandelier with a large stained-glass window and ornate plaster work throughout. The ground floor is home to an array of sitting areas, providing you and your family ample socialising spots; one of the sitting areas is an excellent spot with a toasty open fire and leather seating, ready to be cosied up on in front of the TV; the other room is a very impressive space with three plush sofas, an open fire and gorgeous décor with views over the lawns. For more intimate spaces to relax, there are two additional snugs, one featuring a selection of books and board games for those quieter moments, and the other hosts an open fire, TV and seating for you to unwind. Enjoy a movie night in the spacious second-floor cinema room, before taking part in a competitive game of darts next door. Head back downstairs to the well-equipped kitchen/diner, fitted with a fantastic AGA range, double electric oven and halogen hob and more for you to take advantage of whilst you rustle up your favourite dishes; the kitchen is also served by a dining table with lovely window seating and a breakfast bar; a welcome pack will be waiting for you with some of Yorkshire's finest locally sourced produce and a helpful guest information book. Progress through to the magnificent dining room with its high vaulted beamed ceiling and a wonderful feature woodburning stove providing extra ambiance and a dining suite that seats the whole group for you to enjoy a feast as you catch up on the days events and chat about the fabulous things you've seen and done. Additionally, on this floor you will find a utility room that is served by two washing machines and a separate tumble dryer along with a large American fridge-freezer for your convenience. In the evening, head off to sleep in one of nine bespoke and luxuriously appointed bedrooms named after some of the local village areas, all of which have fabulous 800 thread-count luxury bed linen, the principle bedroom being a magnificent king-size suite Masham, with a glorious four-poster bed, superbly appointed dressing room and accompanying bath suite and shower room with a private balcony where you can enjoy the tranquillity and scenic views over the woodlands. Situated nearby along the main hall is the Hetton, a wonderfully proportioned bedroom with an open fire and en-suite shower room and views over the gardens, and further along you will find the Rylstone, another king-size bedroom complete with an en-suite. Progress through the first floor to find a spacious family room Burnsall, hosting four single beds that are perfect for the little ones. The gardens are a particularly beautiful and restful feature of Scale House, so take the time to stroll around the grounds and leave the kids to play on the extensive lush lawns that back on to private woodlands; When it’s time to unwind and relax further, perhaps a soak in the marvelous hot tub before or after dinner. The nearby town of Skipton hosts all local amenities, alongside a wealth of attractions, why not tour the glorious historical Skipton Castle, play a round of golf at the challenging Skipton Golf Course, or learn about Skipton's history in the Craven Museum & Gallery. Head towards the village of Embsay and board the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway to run through the rural scenery and end up at the fantastic Bolton Abbey, take the kids to Hesketh Farm Park and view the variety of farm animals, before enjoying traditional dishes at the Elm Tree Inn. A highlight of the property is that you will be staying within the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, very popular with cyclists and those with an outdoor interest where you can enjoy a trek along the Pennine Way Trail, explore the caves of Ingleborough and White Scar, or experience the mystical Hull Pot Waterfall. The Duke of Devonshire's estate, Bolton Abbey is on your doorstep and a short drive will take you to Haworth, home to the Bronte sisters, the amazing independent, quirky town of Hebden Bridge, the spa towns of Harrogate and Ilkley which are home to the famous Betty's Tea Rooms, well worth a visit for those who love traditional elegance and superb afternoon tea! With the nearby Nidderdale, Forest of Bowland and Malham's areas of outstanding natural beauty, you will never be short of things to do in this fantastic location. For a delightful break in North Yorkshire, you can be Lord or Lady of the Manor in the breath-taking, but homely, Scale House.
