Alternatively, venture to Machynlleth, where you will find a larger selection of shops and eateries, before stopping off at the RSPB Ynys-hir, the setting 3-years running of BBC’s Springwatch nature programme, with more bird watching opportunities found at Dyfi Osprey project, with the pretty Dyfi area designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Alternatively, head towards the coastline to discover the seaside resort of Borth to spend a summer’s day lazing on the shoreline to catch a glimpse of the exposed remains of a forest, which is estimated to be over 3,000 years old. The property is very well situated for road and mountain bikers, with Nant yr Arian only a 25 minute drive away, and Coed y Brenin less than 1 hour away. Travel slightly further along the coastline to Aberystwyth, which is home to a bustling town centre with lots of lovely independent shops and a colourful Victorian promenade, as well as being home to National Library of Wales and Kings College, the place where Prince Charles stayed when he was studying in Aberystwyth. Other attractions within the surrounding area includes the Ynyslas National Nature Reserve, the Falconry Experience and the Nant-y-Moch Reservoir, providing great walks and fishing opportunities.
