Luxury, heated wood-floored tent. Spectacular view, running hot water & Wi Fi, Llanidloes

Glamorgan. Sleeps up to 4

Heated, luxury “wood-floored tent”. It’s like a cross between a caravan and a tent. But you can hear the birdsong through the canvas, unlike a caravan...

Don't miss the spectacular views in the pictures, many taken from the tent door.

The tent has a central living area and kitchen of 3.1 metres (10’ 3”) x 1.75 metres (5’ 9”) which includes 2 facing, very comfortable settees 1.25 metres (4’ 1”) long, with large fold-up table between.

Two permanently made up double beds behind each bench seat are 1.22 metres (4’ 0”) wide by 2.07 metres (6’ 9”) long.

Centre height is 2.05 metres (6’ 9”).

Includes full kitchen facilities, hot & cold running water, microwave, mains supply, superb lighting & exclusive 2 metres square toilet/shower tent.

With panoramic and utterly serene views over thickly wooded valleys and rolling green hills, this luxurious tent is set between 2 huge beech trees in a large, 2 acre, sheltered and secluded garden and natural woodland. 2 babbling streams feed 5 delightful pools, and a 6 metre waterfalls which can be floodlit after dark. The garden has many paths, 8 benches, 4 swinging benches, huge hammock designed for 2 people and hanging chairs positioned for inspiring views of the trees, pools and utterly serene views.

The door and outside sitting area capture the rising and morning sun and rising full moon.

Kitchen is VERY fully equipped and includes running hot and cold water, electric kettle, microwave oven, 2 gas hobs & grill, small fridge with tiny freezer but optional full-size fridge freezer in shower tent, & 5 good quality non-stick pans, crockery & cutlery

Bird table right next to door

VERY sheltered from wind

Complete privacy

Switch on or off Wi Fi

2 comfortable double beds permanently made up & with internal privacy tents for each bed

No TV!

Exclusive parking spot 20 metres from tent

Thermostatic silent convector heater

Exclusive 2 metres square Shower & Toilet tent only 3 metres away, with TWO separate portable toilets. One can be brought into the main tent overnight

Mains sockets & 12 volt sockets. Some people go out less/use much more heating/electricity than others, and so I decided it is fairer to reduce accommodation prices per night with electricity metered, and charged at my Economy 7 daytime rate cost price.
You pay on arrival a cash deposit of £5 per night, which is a typical maximum in COLDEST Winter weather. This means that most visitors receive a significant cash refund on leaving based on your actual metered usage. (Up to £3.50/night in Summer)
I write down for you your starting meter reading, but you can check the reading on arrival and on leaving.

Mobile signal very likely with EE and 3

The two largest pools are 11 metres wide, as well as being home to frogs and newts.

At the end of a one-mile no-through-road, birdsong is often all you will hear! (Around 10 cars pass per day)

You can walk directly onto the hills from the top of the garden and enjoy wonderful panoramic views.
Otherwise, you can choose more level walks from the lane, passing rare breed sheep and angora goats.

The sky is regularly decorated with the aerial acrobatics of buzzards, and sometimes red kites or swallows. In fact, you can hear, and see many bird species from as close as 2 metres as they visit bird feeding table right next to the door. (robin, blackbird, thrush, yellowhammer, great tit, coal tit, blue tit, chaffinch, many other finches including the greenfinch and stunning goldfinch and even nuthatch and greater spotted woodpecker)

There is also a BBQ and tall fire pit with grill shelf.

POSSIBLE DISADVANTAGES?

If you are not fairly sure-footed, the caravan might be a better choice.
About half the woodland is fairly steep in parts,
and there are slight gradients on the path around your accommodation, and the path up to the woodland. All paths are uneven in parts, although gravel has been used in places to make it more even.

Small areas of the paths may be slippery after rain.
If using the higher part of the woodland, you should bring proper walking shoes.
I cannot accept any liability for injury due to slipping or falling over on paths.
However, there are some safety hand rails.

If you are looking for neatly manicured lawns and flower beds, this would be the wrong place! This is a wild garden and woodland with 17 benches and half a mile of strimmed paths cut through untouched pasture with long grass and wild flowers.

There is Wi Fi but no TV.

LOCATION:

Nearby is the spectacular and tallest waterfall in England and Wales!

Also nearby is Lake Vyrnwy Nature Reserve, 2 red kite feeding centres, and horse riding can be booked only half a mile away.
Also nearby are places for golfing, swimming, bowling, tennis, squash, and sailing and angling (rainbow and brown trout) in the idyllic setting of Lake Clywedog, a haven for rare and migratory birds.

Despite its small size, Llanidloes offers an organic fruit and vegetable shop, a vegetarian restaurant, as well as a health food shop,

The surrounding area is a special attraction for walkers because of the sheer variety of scenery, with its many large lakes and reservoirs, rivers and rolling hills.
Nearby is the most spectacular section of Offa's Dyke as well as Glyndwr's Way and Hafren Forest, with the famous walk to the source of the River Severn. To get to Hafren Forest via a very quiet lane and cycle around it and its rivers, you can hire bikes, including electric, in Llanidloes at very reasonable prices. (Paul Jones 07425 176 826)

Also nearby is the spectacular Elan Valley with its 4 reservoirs and river walks, and you can hire bikes in nearby Rhayader to enjoy the quiet lanes and paths in the Elan Valley area.

You’ve seen from the pictures the tent sits between 2 very mature copper beech trees, with a beautiful view, also shared from the outside sitting area next to the door. It’s very private, and you are right next to a 2 metre thick hedge which hides you from pedestrians and vehicles on the dead end lane 3 metres below the hedge. Only about 10 vehicles pass per day at low speed.

Your exclusive parking area, just off the lane, is only 25 metres from the tent which is in one corner of the 2 acre woodland. It’s 30 metres away from my bungalow conservatory which I mostly avoid using when the tent is occupied. If it was any further away, you would not enjoy the mains electricity, running water and internet connection. You will NOT hear any music or voices coming from inside the bungalow.
Occasionally, I come out via the conservatory and then would use the same path as you will do to get up to the main woodland. I do NOT use the path and gate you use to access the tent.

Away from your exclusive area around the tent, the rest of the woodland is non-exclusive and may be in use sometimes by me or visitors staying in one of the other 2 accommodations here. These are the caravan, 150 metres away or 3 rooms in the bungalow, accessed from the end of the bungalow out of sight from you. All 3 accommodations are far enough apart within the 2 acres of land that there will be no overlooking or feeling of intrusion on privacy.

Located in Llanidloes, this campground is in a rural area and on a river. Mid Wales Shooting Centre and Maesmawr Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Gilfach Nature Reserve and River Severn Source. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
