We are very pleased to open our home for you to enjoy.

The property is in a peaceful tree-lined neighborhood, a short walk from the nearest shops, bars, restaurants, and of course the River Dee. It is a granite house built over 100 years ago and is a mix of old and new as the kitchen has been extended to the full width of the property, creating a bright, open, and functional space for gathering and socializing. There are two large lawns on the South and West sides of the property with a wooded garden lining the boundary of the property. The property is accessed from the quiet residential Rhu-na-haven Road via the main gate.

The house has two entrances. There is a large main entrance (porch) leading to the cloakroom, downstairs toilet, and hall and a utility room entrance leading into the kitchen a the side of the house.

From the main entrance, the hall leads to the living/dining room and downstairs generous double bedroom. The living and dining rooms can either be separate or combined into one large room, the living room has a functioning wood-burning stove. The hall features an original wooden banister and staircase winding to the upstairs toilet/bathroom fitted with a free-standing bath and separate walk-in shower. There are three spacious double bedrooms upstairs, one of which is fitted with 3 single beds.

The property is a wonderful place to either feel secluded and rest or to host. It is also a perfect base to enjoy the numerous outdoor activities and sites throughout the seasons in the North East of Scotland.

Aboyne is nestled in Royal Deeside, midway between Braemar and Aberdeen, at the foot of the Cairngorm National Park and the location of the Muir of Dinnet and Glen Tanar nature reserves. The village has a beautiful green at its center and is used to host the annual Highland Games. The Deeside Activity Park is a 10 min drive away with a wide variety of outdoor activities to choose from. The Deeside Way (the old Deeside railway line now converted into a walking and cycling path) running from Aberdeen to Ballater, with a few points that must be crossed over the north Deeside road. Aboyne is a wonderful base for local/nearby adventures as well as walks/climbs, fishing, swimming, cycling during the spring-autumn months and in winter months a little further out at the Lecht Ski Centre (28m NW) or the Glen Shee Ski Centre (36m SW). The Deeside Gliding Club is a 30min walk / 15 min cycle on the Deeside Way or a 5-minute drive from the property and has a purpose-built layby off the A93 to watch the activities of the club. The Aberdeen water-ski club operates out of the Aboyne Loch, just outside the village, to the North just off the A93.
Other things to note
The kitchen is fitted with a large oil-fired Aga Range, guests with young children should be aware. Instructions for the Aga are in the kitchen.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome (a maximum of two) but there is an extra charge of £25 per dog. We do ask that we are notified in advance of arrival and that dogs are kept downstairs and off the sofas and beds.

Any extra bedding will be charged for at £25 per item.

Guest do not have access to outhouses/woodsheds.

The only fireplace in use is the wood burner in the living room (not to be used as a stove).

Located in Aboyne, this vacation home is in a rural area and on a river. Aboyne Golf Club and Reflect Spa are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Cairngorms National Park and Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
