Peak District. Sleeps up to 4

Perched on a quiet road in the centre of Tideswell village in Derbyshire, is this superb, two-bedroom terraced cottage, 2 Market Square. Boasting an excellent location within the Peak District National Park with an abundance of walks right on your doorstep, as well as an interior enjoying original beams and features, 2 Market Square is a fabulous dwelling for two couples or a family of four who are looking to escape to the Peaks. Take advantage of the ample parking available in the market square adjacent to the property, before unloading your bags and making your way into your new home-from-home. Be welcomed into the delightful kitchen, where you can look forward to conjuring up delicious feasts for your guests with the help of the electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge, ready to be enjoyed at the dining table for four with a bottle of wine. If you’re lucky enough to have sunshine, make dinner an alfresco affair and fire up the barbecue out on the private courtyard which is sheltered just in case of rainy spells! As the evening cools, retreat inside to the sitting room, where you can add a log to the crackling woodburning stove and snuggle up on the plush sofas, as you select your favourite film from the TV. As your eyes grow heavy, climb the stairs to the first floor, where you will discover two well-presented king-size bedrooms, each with plenty of storage for your belongings. Awake from a leisurely slumber and indulge in a blissful soak in the bath or refreshing shower, before savouring a morning coffee and heading out for the day. Explore the local village where you are just moments away from the impressive church, known by the locals as the ‘Cathedral of the Peak’, as well as an excellent selection of cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways for when you don’t feel like cooking! Take the short drive over to Buxton, where you can brush up on the local history at the Buxton Museum & Art Gallery, tuck-in to a homemade picnic in Buxton Park or enjoy an evening of culture and live performances at the Buxton Opera House. For those in your party seeking something more adventurous, look no further than Poole’s Cavern, where you can embark on a tour of the fascinating underground limestone caves, as well as woodland trails available in the country park. Budding historians will not want to miss the opportunity to visit Solomon’s Temple, a landmark spanning from the 19th-century and offering incomparable Peak District views from its top. Just a little further is the charming town of Bakewell, home to the interesting Old House, the historic arched Bakewell Bridge and the renowned Bakewell Tart Shop where you can sample the local delicacy. Be sure to head to the lavish stately home of Chatsworth House nearby, where you can tour its expansive interior with an excellent art collection, as well as the gardens which feature a farmyard, temple, fountain and labyrinth. For a getaway to the Peak District like no other, choose 2 Market Square.
