Seaview, Swanage

Dorset. Sleeps up to 7

Overlooking the coastal splendour of the sea and cliffs, situated in a desirable area from which to discover Swanage and the surrounding Jurassic Coast, Seaview is the perfect location for families to explore the Isle of Purbeck with its beautiful beaches and surrounding countryside. The bungalow is all on one floor with off-road parking and is well-suited to a variety of group needs, with a short walk to the beach and town centre being an added delight. You enter via the large welcoming utility room, where there is plenty of space to store all your holiday beach paraphernalia, children’s buggies, coats and shoes after a relaxing day at the beach, or a day of exploring. Here, you will also find the washing machine. From the utility room you enter the modern well equipped kitchen, with its sleek units housing all you could need during your stay. Following on from the kitchen, the large dining room has wonderful views overlooking the sea and cliffs where you can enjoy cosy home cooked meals, or a wonderful fish and chip supper bought at one of the local Fish & Chip shops. Moving through to the inviting sitting room, guests will find a plush seating arrangement to sink into, where they can watch T.V, or spend a quiet moment to themselves. Leading off the sitting room is the bright and airy conservatory; a suntrap in the summer where you can enjoy a good book or a snooze. Outside is a large patio area where you can sit out and make the most of the sunshine. At the front of the bungalow is a large lawn to play games on, and a raised balcony with sea views for your evening drink. When your fun-filled day draws to an end, seek out the three well-presented bedrooms to rest your head. Take your pick from the family room with both a king-size double and a single bed, a master bedroom with double bed and a sea view, or a twin room with two single beds and a sea view, each with its own stylish interior and ample storage space. Begin your day in either the bathroom with bath and separate large rain shower, or the equally convenient shower room with walk-in rain shower, offering plenty of space for guests to get ready for a day of relaxing on the beach, or exploring further afield. The bungalow benefits from being just a short stroll away from the town's centre, where you will find a mixture of shops and choice of supermarkets, and small independent eclectic shops, selling local produce and goods. Find a souvenir to remind you of your holiday, or search out unusual individual gifts for family and friends. You will also find many fine restaurants, coffee shops and pubs where you can enjoy a tasty snack or a more substantial meal. Visit Swanage Museum to learn more about the history, geology and geography of the area, or The Mowlem Theatre where you can watch a variety of wonderful shows, and films. Take a stroll along the beautiful Victorian pier, or along the sea front with beautiful gardens and the soft, sandy Blue Flag awarded beach. Visit the children’s play park overlooking the beach or the Santa-Fe Fun Park if you're travelling with little ones, home to a range of fun-filled activities such as mini golf, arcades, rides and more, while the Townsend Nature Reserve is the perfect way to spend a more relaxed day or a scenic walk. Take an unforgettable trip on the steam train from Swanage railway station to the old historical village of Corfe Castle with its ruined castle fortification built by William the Conqueror (National Trust). Take a walk to the Durlston Country Park and National Nature Reserve for even more splendour, with 33 species of breeding butterfly, over 250 species of bird recorded and 500 wildflowers to discover alongside plenty of history and educational experiences too. If you love walking take a stroll to the Lighthouse, Dancing Ledge or Old Harry Rocks with their wonderful views over the sea. Further afield you can drive to Lulworth Cove or Durdle Door for more spectacular walks and views. Take a drive over to Studland for the day to find another beautiful sandy beach, as well as a ferry journey crossing the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. From there you can take a short boat trip to the tranquil Brownsea Island (National Trust). Further afield is the Saxon walled market town of Wareham where you can enjoy a stroll along the river; or Dorchester, with its various museums including the Dinosaur Museum, Dorset County Museum, The Keep Military Museum and more. It makes the perfect day trip for a historic day out, with even more eateries to choose from too. Whatever you decide to do, Swanage is a beautiful base from which to explore the coast of Dorset, and Seaview makes a spectacular choice all-year-round.
