Old Slaughter House, Coleshill

Oxfordshire. Sleeps up to 2

This quaint cottage is full of character, with exposed beams, lots of natural light and countryside-inspired décor. Nearby historical landmarks and places in our care are easily within your reach if you fancy a slice of history on your break.

The Old Slaughter House is nestled right on the Oxfordshire border. Surrounded by nature, like the nearby woodlands and fields, it’s the perfect spot for long walks and time spent away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There’s a private gravelled area at the back with seating, which is the ideal place for a cup of tea and quality time with a loved one. Inside, there’s a free-standing bath in the bathroom for those rainy days when you want to just unwind with a book.

Though compact, it’s a rustic, cosy place to stay, and it’s located on the Buscot and Coleshill estates. It’s also close to historical landmarks like White Horse Hill and Buscot House and Park, which is still cared for by Lord Faringdon.

This cottage is perfect for couples who love the outdoors. It’s located down a quiet lane with the countryside on your doorstep, great for a walk or cycle any time of the year. There’s a local pub and tea room in Coleshill village, a short walk away, so you can unwind with a drink of your choice after a day exploring the Coleshill Estate or a spot of fishing in nearby Buscot. If you fancy a slight change of scenery, why not visit the historic town of Lechlade for a river-based pursuit or the 13th-century Great Coxwell Barn, both a short drive away. Nature and history are on your doorstep if you choose to stay here.
