There s a pub 2 miles away in nearby Willington while bustling Bishop Auckland is only 4 miles from here with a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. See Durham s cathedral, castle, river and university. Visit Raby Castle and The Auckland Project at Auckland Castle (3.5 miles) for great days out, mixing history, art and culture alongside superb views from Auckland Tower of the Deer Park and beyond. Try the renowned ice cream parlour/restaurant in nearby North Bitchburn (4.5 miles). Explore the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and discover High Force waterfall, Bowes Museum, Hamsterley Forest, Eggleston Hall Gardens, and the amazing Beamish Living Museum (all within 30 miles). Access this lovely property through the front door and step into the hallway where you can leave your outdoor clothing and walking boots. Head into the light and airy open plan lounge/kitchen/diner to find plenty of comfortable seating for sociable evenings catching up with one another or watching your favourite movies on the smart TV with a wood burner adding to the cosy atmosphere. There is a large family dining table you can all sit around for your mealtimes together and the well equipped kitchen has everything you need to make a family feast including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and a washing machine. The kitchen island is perfect to sit on a bar stool with a drink while chatting to the family chef. Three of the five bedrooms are located on the ground floor, each with king size beds and smart TVs and one has an en suite shower room and WC. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor with a shower, freestanding bath and WC. Heading upstairs, you will find two further bedrooms located off the landing, one with a double bed, smart TV and en suite with a shower cubicle and WC, and a further double bedroom with a smart TV. Outside, there is a generous, enclosed garden with outdoor seating where you can all enjoy a drink to extend your day and cook on the BBQ/firepit. Enjoy relaxing time together in the hot tub which is housed inside a converted stable for year round fun and privacy. Private parking is off road for up to five cars. Please note the property's sister cottage (No.4) has a hot tub that is housed in the stable next to this one.
