From here, the Tennyson Trail can be followed to The Needles on the western tip of the island or inland to Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. The five mile stretch of gently curving sand and shingle beach at Brighstone Bay is easily accessible, offering diving, snorkelling, surfing and windsurfing facilities.
