Cottage in Dorset, Charmouth

Dorset. Sleeps up to 4

As you approach this property, which can be found halfway up a steep lane that leads to a National Trust nature reserve, with excellent views across Lyme Bay, you will notice its quaint exterior nestled comfortably between the other properties. With its 18th century charm, convenient village location and less than a mile from the beach, it is a great place for a family holiday. Not only have you got the fossil hunting beach of Charmouth on your doorstep, you also have the seaside town of Lyme Regis (3.5 miles) close by and the rest of the Jurassic Coast and Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to explore. As you enter the cottage, you ll find yourself in the cosy lounge with original features such as exposed beams and Victorian fireplace. The open fire is perfect for snuggling up in front of on a chilly evening with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book. Going through into the kitchen/diner, you will find it is light and airy with all the mod cons you ll need to conjure up a tasty breakfast or scrumptious dinner. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, both with pine floors and furniture. One has a king size bed and glimpses towards the sea, the other has twin beds. Both bedrooms have quirky shelves and cupboards built in to make use of the unusual lines of the old building. The shower room, also on the first floor, is well lit and has a shower and WC. Outside, there is a south facing courtyard to the front with furniture allowing you to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine in the Dorset sunshine. There is parking available on the lane.
