Jay Cottage, Weymouth

Dorset. Sleeps up to 4

Just a stone's throw from the beautiful Weymouth Harbour, in a quiet residential spot, Jay Cottage offers a wonderful Dorset holiday home for a family of four. Enjoying glimpses of Chesil Beach from one of the bedrooms, this terraced house has two bedrooms, and is within easy reach of all of Weymouth's beloved attractions and town centre. Choose to park up on the driveway or in the off-road space to the back of the property, before entering into the porch area, handy for any wet gear or watersports equipment. Be welcomed into the spacious sitting room where two sofas present a stylish space to relax in after a busy day, with a TV for entertainment. A high-gloss fitted kitchen is home to all you need including an electric oven, microwave, electric hob and a fridge/freezer, so you can rustle up delicious family meals when you're not dining out, to be enjoyed around the dining table in here. Open up the patio doors which give the kitchen/diner an abundance of light, and make use of the pretty enclosed garden, let your canine-companion stretch their legs and sip your morning coffee here. Retire each evening to one of the two charming double bedrooms, with one offering glimpses of Chesil Beach, and both served by the shower room which has a large shower enclosure. Weymouth has been a popular choice of holiday destination for many years and is bursting with fun-filled activities; discover a world of underwater creatures at Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park, with over 2,000 creatures including otters, sea turtles, penguins, and plenty of fish, it's a great day out and even has a Splash Zone play area for children in summer. Delight in the sights of the brightly coloured beach huts, golden sands and safe shallow waters of Weymouth Beach, often named in the top ten beach destinations in Europe, it's not hard to see why! The wonderful esplanade that runs parallel to the beach is perfect for leisurely strolls or bike rides, with gorgeous views out to the Jurassic Coast, and it also connects the Lorton Valley Nature Park to Radipole Lake Reserve, making it a great way to explore too and see some wildlife in their natural habitats. Don't miss a visit to Nothe Fort, an impressive Victorian-built fortress, made to protect Portland Harbour and home to a network of underground passages, it's rich in history and also affords wonderful views over to Portland and Weymouth Bay. The property is only 5 minutes away from Smallmouth beach - a small enclosed beach perfect for paddle-boarding, kayaking or paddling. From here you can see the windsurfers and kitesurfers using the harbour where some of the water events of the 2012 London Olympics took place. The OTC Watersports Centre is also a 5 minute drive away, located right on the water’s edge and caters for windsurfing, kitesurfing, wing-foiling and stand up paddleboarding. On Portland the working lighthouse can be climbed and the visitor centre explored before enjoying lunch at the Lobster Pot which has beautiful views over to the Jurassic coast. Walkers can delight in hopping onto the South West Coast Path for more coastal scenery while staying active, or for a more relaxed jaunt head along the Rodwell Trail. Other things not to miss include SandWorld to see the creative sculptures carved and give it a go yourself with the help of some tools and friendly staff, the Isle of Portland, the 18-mile long Chesil Beach, fishing at Weymouth Harbour, and lots more. Enjoy a stay at Jay Cottage with your loved ones for some unforgettable Dorset memories!
