Within a short walk you will find yourself at the local bay, perfect for catching up on some reading in the sunshine after a picnic, beach combing or enjoying wild swimming and watersports with your family, or embark on hikes across the local area. Venture a little further to find the famously white sandy beaches of Reef and Uig bay or enjoy a meal at one of the local cafes and bars, before stocking up on essentials at Uig village store. 33.5 miles away you will find Stornoway, with a greater selection of bars and shops, as well as local craft shops and galleries, a museum presenting a history of the local culture, or head to one of the many archaeological sites of interest including Calanais Standing Stones. Throughout the isle of Lewis, you will also take note of the beautiful wildlife, ranging from red deer and ringed plovers to white tailed eagles and golden eagles. If you wish to sample local flavours, head over to the distillery at Abhainn Dearg for tours and tasters.
