The Old Church, The Old Church, Torrin

Isle of Skye. Sleeps up to 8

You will find magnificent mountain and loch views from this superb cottage in the Isle of Skye. . The Old Church has been amazingly converted to provide very comfortable and spacious accommodation for eight people. It’s perfect for families or a group of friends. Situated in the magical village of Torrin along the Elgol road, it’s a quieter corner of the island, which is hard to understand, because the scenery is obviously the best you’ll find on the Isle of Skye.

The accommodation has a superb flow throughout and is spacious at every turn. Upon entering the property you have a boot room, where you can leave your muddy boots, after long walks and adventures across the island. Beyond, in the centre of the house is the spacious and light dining room. The living room is wonderfully finished and spacious, and from here you will discover a hidden gem of the property - a bar room!

On those occasional warm evenings, there’s a sheltered decking area in the garden for everyone to sit out and enjoy the views of the mountains and sea loch. You’ll see sheep and cows roaming around the property, as well red deer, white-tailed eagles and golden eagles and seals on the shoreline.

The Old Church has views to die for. The centrepiece vista is to the north, and is framed by a large window in the living room. You can see Bla Bheinn, one of the most magnificent mountains in the UK, along with the routes you can walk to the summit throughout your holiday. To the north and west from Bla Bheinn is the Black Cuillin, and to the east, the Red Cuillin, which are all approachable from The Old Church. It’s a hiker’s paradise!

Sea Loch Slapin is also very close, visible from the cottage, so you have the rare commodity of coast and mountain at the same holiday property. Along Loch Slapin one way, you’ll find one of the best secret walks on Skye to the clearance villages of Boreraig and Suisnish. Take the other way at the road end, and you will find the amazing harbour village of Elgol, where you can go on boat trips to see wildlife, or simply to get across into the heart of the Cuillins and visit Loch Coruisk. Visit The Old Church and you’ll fall in love with this part of Skye, and will soon be planning your return visit. Beach 10 miles, Shop, pub and restaurant 7 miles.. 6 steps to entrance.
