Barn in The Highlands, Evanton

Ross-Shire. Sleeps up to 6

Stepping inside this beautiful detached, converted steading guests will find themselves in the bright spacious hallway with natural stone pillars and floor to ceiling windows, leading into the impressive open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The dining area is a perfect place for family and friends to get together and enjoy an evening meal at the table with panoramic views. On a summers evening take advantage of the patio doors leading out to the patio area. The stylish and contemporary kitchen is well equipped to make meals and snacks with a central island, electric oven and hob, grill, fridge/freezer, separate drinks fridge, microwave, coffee pod machine and dishwasher. The lounge area with vaulted ceiling, exposed stone wall and beams is the perfect place to relax in front of the contemporary and cosy wood burner and watch TV after a day out exploring. Heading back through the hallway you will find a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer (delete the following) and microwave and when the day is done you will find a spacious ground floor bedroom with super king size zip and link bedroom (I think take this out as this is the room we would prefer to stay as a superking, twins work better upstairs) (which can be made up as a twin on request) with an en suite shower room and WC. Wake up and enjoy the views across the hills from the large floor to ceiling windows. There is also a separate WC on this floor. Climb the solid oak stairs to the first floor where you will find the further two bedrooms, both with super king size zip and link beds (which can be made up as twins on request), and both with en suite bathrooms with bath and separate shower and WC. Stepping outside there is a paved patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ to enjoy al fresco dining while enjoying the surrounding countryside views. The garden to the front of the property is lawn with a stone circle feature for enjoying views towards the Cromarty Firth. There are lots of local walks to enjoy from the house and ample parking available. Located in the Ross shire countryside with the city of Inverness and Inverness Airport about a 40 minute drive, this is a fantastic base for exploring the spectacular and dramatic Scottish Highlands. There are many country walks and cycle paths to enjoy, taking you to the dramatic Black Rock Gorge or take a woodland walk up to the Fyrish monument for spectacular views over the Cromarty Firth, (delete as this is currently closed) or visit the Dalmore Distillery located in Alness. Black Isle and Cromarty Firth boat trips are great for dolphin and seal spotting. Among the activities available include salmon and trout fishing, shooting, golf and many others. Dornoch's beautiful beaches, Urquhart Castle, Dunrobin Castle and the famous Loch Ness are within easy reach. Dingwall is also a short drive away, where you will find shops, restaurants, cafes and leisure
