The Red House, in Martinstown, is an extended Victorian stone cottage set in the rich farming countryside of south east County Limerick, between the towns of Kilmallock and Kilfinane. With views of the Tipperary Galtee Mountains, this comfortable family home is perfectly situated for those who like the outdoor life, with hill walking, mountain bike trails and fishing on your doorstep. The Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails are the largest network of its kind in Ireland, and are 10 minutes away. The house is 25 minutes from Mitchelstown Caves, the Glen of Aherlow, the town of Tipperary and the medieval city of Limerick. Lough Gur, a megalithic jewel in the landscape, and one of Ireland’s most important archaeological sites, is a short drive. The pretty town of Adare, a designated Heritage town, is also on the doorstep, with its golf club, historic friaries and fine restaurants.

For those who wish to go further afield, the famous Burren, Lahinch surfing beach and the cliffs of Moher are all less than 2 hours north on the Wild Atlantic Way. Travel south to the seaside town of Youghal, on the River Blackwater estuary, and you are entering east Cork, home to Ballymaloe Cookery School and Fota Wildlife Park. The city of Cork and the famous Blarney Stone are 40 minutes away. From there, glorious west Cork beckons. Alternatively, for those who do not wish to drive too far, Charleville’s train station is 10 minutes away. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 3 miles.. Approximate distance to Shannon airport is 68 km.
