It is just 1½ miles from the renowned beauty spot of Glengarriff with its nature reserve, bamboo park, the lovely Garnish Island Gardens and Bryce House, and is ideal for those wishing to explore this beautiful area on the Wild Atlantic Way. In the vicinity of Glengarriff there is excellent walking for walkers of all abilities, a 9-hole golf course and fishing. The village has a good choice of craft shops, restaurants and pubs and is the gateway to the spectacular Beara Peninsula. Bantry, 8 miles, has 18-hole golf course, a cinema, a leisure centre, and Bantry House and Gardens which hosts music festivals and events. The Mizen Peninsula, Sheep’s Head Peninsula, Gougane Barra Forest Park, Kenmare and Killarney make fantastic day trips. Throughout West Cork you will find coastal villages that offer a variety of water sports and some have boat trips to offshore islands. It is also an area that has long inspired writers, artists, craft workers and food producers, and many outlets will display and sell their produce. Beach 3½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
