Steep, narrow stairs to first floor: 1 twin bedroom (for children, one bed 2ft 6in) with wooden floor, low door and ceiling. . Cot and high chair on request. Washing machine and tumble dryer in external utility room. Tiered patios and furniture. NB: 3-4 steps between patio levels.. Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Electric heaters and electricity by meter reading. Bed linen and towels included. Cot and high chair on request. Satellite TV (basic package). DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Barbecue. No smoking. NB: From the pier it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the cottage. By arrangement you can be driven to the cottage. . These detached holiday properties are located on beautiful Heir Island, in Roaring Water Bay in West Cork, on part of the Wild Atlantic Way route, and are perfect for those seeking a unique holiday experience. The Old Barn (ref W31991) is a fantastic barn conversion sleeping a maximum of 4 people, and Timmy’s Cottage (ref W32124) was named after the owner’s grandfather and sleeps a maximum of 8 people. Your unique holiday experience begins with setting aside the car on the mainland (free parking) and taking the four-minute ferry crossing to the island (small charge). From here you can explore the island on foot or on bicycle. There is a grocery delivery service available, by prior arrangement, 3 times a week. There is a sandy beach, a sailing school, a bakery and bread school, and resident artists’ studios. There is no pub but there is a restaurant that’s widely known. There are fishing opportunities, boat trips to other islands or a pizza and pint evening in Baltimore. Skibbereen is 8 miles. Shop 8 miles (on mainland), pub 2½ miles (on mainland), restaurant ¾ mile (open mid-June to mid-September, no children).. Approximate distance to Cork Airport is 95 km.
