Locally you can enjoy fishing on Lough Corrib including Mayfly (gillies and boats for hire) and excellent hill and mountain walks. This area really is a walker’s and cyclist’s paradise with a local walking group meeting in the village every Sunday. Further afield is pony trekking at Ashford Castle, (25 minutes), large unspoilt Atlantic Coast beach, (30 minutes), sea angling (45 minutes), golf and pitch ’n’ putt (30 minutes). Georgian town of Westport, Delphi Adventure Centre, Galway City and many pretty villages are all within easy driving distance. Shop 3 miles, restaurant 5 miles, pub 3 miles.. Approximate distance to Knock Airport is 93 km.
