This charming, contemporary-style holiday property overlooks the marina at Mountshannon on the western shores of Lough Derg, Ireland’s pleasure lake. The village, a national tourist award winner, has lovely traditional pubs, coffee shops and a hotel less all less than 200 yards from the holiday village. The village is in an elevated position on a hill overlooking a beautiful harbour with an exceptional view of the lake. It is a place with strong links to history and includes some excellent archaeology - the most impressive historical site being Inis Cealtra (or Holy Island), a monastic settlement of great importance in ancient Ireland. The island is just a short boat trip from the village and is home to a number of churches, graveyards, a holy well and a selection of religious stone carvings. The East Clare Walkway is close by, there is golf at East Clare Golf Club, and water-based activities are also available. Traditional Irish music can be enjoyed most evenings in the village’s bars, many of which serve excellent food. Mount Shannon is easily accessed from Limerick City, Galway and Shannon International Airport. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.. Approximate distance to Shannon Airport is 58.5 km.
