The property, accessed via a rough track, is set on a working sheep farm within the village of Llanwrthwl, which lies on the River Wye, south of the market town of Rhayader. A visit to the Elan Valley to see the dams and reservoirs is recommended, where you can take in some stunning scenery and wildlife, including an abundance of red kites. Cyclists can enjoy the many cycle routes in the area, including some of the best routes in the UK. Rhayader town has an array of cafés and shops to browse around, and there is also the visitor centre at Elan Valley, which serves food and drink as well as offering plenty of information about the area.
The spa town of Llandrindod Wells is 10 miles from the property, whilst the market town of Builth Wells is a little further on. The latter is home to the Royal Welsh Showground which hosts many different shows and events throughout the year. Shop and restaurant 3 miles, pub 10 miles.
