Travel cot and highchair available on request. Welcome pack. External utility room with freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and a selection of books and games (shared with other properties on-site). Enclosed lawned garden with covered sitting-out area, garden furniture and barbecue (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are sloping ceilings in some rooms. . Located on the edge of the New Forest National Park, only two miles from the historic town of Ringwood, these two carefully converted, semi-detached Victorian farm barns are set within a complex of four. Peacefully located on a semi working farm, The Granary (ref UK10686) and The Barn (ref UK10687) are surrounded by miles of countryside and fields where sheep sometimes graze. Enjoy the perfect balance between a secluded break and easy access to all the local attractions and amenities. Guests are welcome to bring their own horse and the owner can provide grass livery only (no stabling).
These attractive holiday properties offer a light and spacious relaxing base from which to enjoy the beautiful area of Hampshire and Dorset. Each barn has an open plan living, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor, complete with wood flooring, a wood burner and beams. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one twin and one double, both offering en-suite facilities. Outside there is a shared courtyard with seating and a covered area to one end, and a separate enclosed lawned area. Parking is provided for two cars. There is a shared laundry room which has a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and a whole array of tourist information, books, toys and family board games for guests to enjoy. Throughout the restoration and conversion, every effort was made to be energy efficient and sustainable. The property uses green technology with air source heat pump for heating and hot water, to allow for the least damage to the environment and minimal CO2 emissions.
There is so much to do in the area, with festivals and shows all through the summer. There is a farm shop about a mile away, which has a wide selection of local produce, or visit the nearby market town of Ringwood with its selection of shops and eateries. Enjoy the delights of the New Forest National Park, which is popular all year round, where you can see free-roaming ponies and cattle, and enjoy miles of off-road walking, riding and cycling. There are many quaint villages and towns just a short drive away including Burley and the market town of Fordingbridge, with its famous stone bridge and fine arches and fishing. The coastline with fantastic beaches at Bournemouth, Sandbanks, Studland Bay and Poole are all within easy driving distance.
There are many places to visit such as Ringwood Brewery where you can enjoy a tour and then sample some of the fine beers, including their most famous brew, Old Thumper! Within easy reach are the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury, Winchester Cathedral, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Christchurch Priory, Marwell Zoo, Paultons Park with Peppa Pig World and the New Forest Otter and Owl Wildlife Park. Further afield, but worth a day out, are attractions such as Stonehenge, Monkey World, The Tank Museum at Bovington and Southampton with its maritime history. Enjoy a day along the unspoilt famous World Heritage Jurassic Coastline from West Bay, Bridport and on to Weymouth with its superb scenery. As well as walking and cycling, this is a great area for riding, golfing and fishing. Beach 9½ miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
