Right on the banks of the River Wye with amazing views over Tintern Abbey and the Forest of Dean, stands this detached 18th-century stone cottage – fully refurbished throughout. It has its own terrace adjacent to the river with railings, and a smaller lawned area with barbecue. The property comprises a spacious L-shaped sitting room with open fire, exposed beams, stone walls and rugs on a tiled floor, as well as a separate dining room. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar has delectable views over Tintern Abbey. The first floor has a beamed ’vaulted ceiling’ landing, beamed kingsize double bedroom overlooking the river, beamed double bedroom with stone wall, and a bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Five local pubs and hotels (four in walking distance) offer home-made food. Chepstow, 5 miles and Monmouth, 10 miles.
The beautiful surrounding countryside is excellent for walkers and dog owners alike, with Offa’s Dyke and the Brecon Beacons also within easy reach. Local fishing is available. There are eleven golf courses offering a total of sixteen 18-hole courses within 20 miles from the property. Monmouthshire also boasts six working vineyards and another four across the river Wye in Gloucestershire. Local outdoor activities include canoeing, caving, climbing, cycling, golf, angling, riding and walking. Shop ½ miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
