Decked patio with outdoor furniture. Allocated parking for 1 car; additional on road parking. No smoking.. Shearwater is a three bedroom house, set over three floors, designed by an award-winning team and located on the east coast of Portland. It offers superb views of Pennsylvania Castle and out to the sea. The property is a highly energy-efficient ‘Passivhaus’ eco-home, operating on a low carbon footprint.

The house is well equipped providing all the comforts of home in a contemporary style. The open plan kitchen dining area is situated on the ground floor and a large living room on the first floor takes advantage of the views out to sea. The largest room in the house is the master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom on the top floor with views of the castle and out towards Portland Race. Externally, this property benefits from a furnished patio and its own designated off road car parking space at the rear.

All guests staying at Shearwater will have unlimited use of the fully-equipped beach hut situated in Church Ope Cove.

Pennsylvania Castle is just a few minutes’ walk and Portland Bill is within a short drive or moderate walk. Church Ope Cove, Portland’s only accessible beach, can be accessed by foot although access is via a steep coastal path which may be inaccessible to those with limited mobility. During your stay be sure to take a walk around Portland Marina, with some of the finest small boat sailing waters in Northern Europe. The area is a hive of sailing activity and was the official venue for the Olympic sailing events in 2012. Weymouth’s child friendly beach is a short drive away.

Shearwater especially welcomes children, the property provides a travel cot, highchair, stairgate, children’s cutlery and a selection of children’s games, DVDs and toys.
