Field House - sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms, Weston Subedge, Chipping Campden

Gloucestershire. Sleeps up to 8

Tucked away on family-owned farmland in the heart of the sleepy Cotswold village of Weston-sub-Edge is Field House Cottage; a roomy barn-conversion with bags of character, offering an idyllic rustic hideaway for families or groups looking for plenty of space and seclusion.

Sleeping up to six adults and two children across four well-appointed bedrooms, Field House Cottage offers a genuine slice of country life to all those who visit. Interiors boast a wonderfully rustic feel, with original flagstone flooring, exposed beams, and Cotswold stone, whilst outside a large private lawned area provides plenty of outdoor space to enjoy; framed beautifully by the rolling Cotswold landscape beyond.
Ground Floor
Kitchen:
Stepping in through a grand stable door from the cottage's shared courtyard driveway you'll enter a traditional farmhouse kitchen; a wonderful hub of the home, with bags of original character. Sitting proudly in the centre is a large oak dining table, adorned with a cleverly repurposed beer trough, plus mismatched pine seating for up to 6 guests to give the space a relaxed, rustic vibe. With exposed stone walls, original beams and quarry-tiled flooring, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time to the cottage's original working farmhouse era, brought into the modern-day with all the mod-cons you need for an enjoyable stay. We love the room's large window, affording you stunning views of the rolling fields beyond the cottage's private garden; the perfect spot for countryside gazing with your morning cuppa.

Living Room:
Through another large stable-style door from the kitchen sits the cottage's living space; a large, open-plan area with an additional dining table for up to five guests, ideal for overspill or when the adults need a little space. In here, the cottage's rustic charm continues thanks to its exposed stone walls, beamed ceiling, patterned tile flooring, and enormous stone fireplace, kitted out with a wood burner for cosy evenings in by the fire. With plenty of seating available courtesy of a selection of comfy, sink-in sofas, a TV complete with Sky and DVD player will keep all ages entertained after a fun day exploring the nearby towns and villages. The living room also benefits from French Doors which open directly into the cottage's own private garden, with an additional set on the other side giving optional access to the walled garden of the property's sister cottage; great for large groups sharing the two.

Bedroom One:
Field House Cottage's ground-floor bedroom can be found just beyond the living area, ideal for the less mobile or those who simply like to spread out. Configured as a twin, children or adults who don't mind sharing will have a cosy space to rest their heads here, the room itself boasting the same exposed beams, stone walls and fantastic views out to the surrounding Cotswold landscapes of the cottage's living area. There's a handy built-in wardrobe for storage, plus a snug en-suite; small but perfectly formed, complete with shower, basin, toilet, and stone flooring.

First Floor
Up the angular wooden staircase from the cottage's open-plan living/dining area sit three further bedrooms and the property's family bathroom, all accessed from a spacious landing area flooded with natural light.

Bedroom Three:
Found on the left-hand side as you alight the staircase is Bedroom 3, another spacious bedroom benefitting from high ceilings, exposed beams, and plenty of natural light courtesy of two large windows. Country-casual in style thanks to its cream walls and floral fabrics, in here you'll find a comfortable double bed and built-in wardrobe for storage, plus beautiful views across the surrounding fields.

Bedroom Two:
Leading on from Bedroom 3 through a small doorway is the cottage's own secret bedroom hideaway; an additional bedroom in the eaves of the house, perfect for little ones. In here, two twin beds offer a comfy spot for younger guests to get some shuteye, with playful fabrics, cuddly toys, and a fun snakes and ladders rug making the space feel like their own secret den.

Bedroom Four:
The cottage's final bedroom sits on the right-hand side of the landing. In here, you'll find a double bed and built-in wardrobe, plus the same attractive high ceilings, country-cream colour palette, and wonderful natural light that can be found in Bedroom 3, courtesy of a large bright skylight.

Family Bathroom:
Situated alongside Bedroom 4, the cottage's attractive modern family bathroom is well-equipped with both a bath and spacious shower, plus a bright skylight, wooden-effect flooring, and marbled tiling. Large enough to cope with plenty of guests, additional seating makes bath times with little ones a breeze.
Outside
To the rear of the property sits a fantastic private lawned garden; a huge space with amazing views out towards the surrounding fields, perfect for all ages to enjoy. With plenty of outdoor seating available courtesy of two sets of dining furniture, al fresco dinners here are as easy as pie, plus there's a charcoal BBQ for those hankering for a flame-grilled feast. Perfect for groups in search of plenty of room in which to stretch their legs, younger guests have more than enough space to run free here, enclosed with wooden fencing to keep inquisitive explorers safely contained. While away the afternoon playing garden games, partaking in a game of football or simply sitting back and relaxing in the sun; we guarantee you'll never tire of the surrounding views.

Located in Chipping Campden, this cottage is in a rural area. Broadway Golf Club and Cotswold Way are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Cotswolds and Broadway Tower Country Park. Traveling with kids? Consider Hidcote Manor Garden, or check out an event or a game at Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium.
