This traditional crofters cottage is ideally located in the crofting village of Laxay, Lacasaigh in Gaelic. Only eleven miles from Stornoway, Isle of Lewis and thirty minutes to Tarbert, Isle of Harris.
Meadowcroft Cottage offers outstanding views across to the Harris Hills and makes an ideal base to leisurely explore the Hebridean Islands.
Originally built in 1880 this charming cottage has been extended over the years. It has now been completely renovated to a very high standard and offers visitors a very comfortable Hebridean holiday home with all modern conveniences.
Outside is an enclosed patio area, a sun trap, where you can enjoy outdoor dining.
We also have a herd (Blar a Bhard Fold) of pedigree Highland Cattle. They occasionally graze the adjoining croft. They will enjoy watching you as much as you admire them, but are quite shy despite their long horns.
The way of life as you would expect of a crofting village is relaxed, quiet, Hebridean style. Yet if it’s adventure you are looking for there is something for everyone. For a more sedate holiday set your own pace and see what’s on offer.
This cottage is located in Isle of Lewis. Museum Nan Eilean and Blue Pig Studio are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include The Good Food Boutique and The Harris Tweed Company Grosebay.
