Rowhedge is home to an Award winning Real Ale pub, a further pub serving good quality meals with a waterside terrace, a cafe, a well stocked grocery store and a small convenience store - all within a 2 min walk of the property as well as the amenities including fishing, bird-watching, kayaking and cycling. From Rowhedge, you can take the short footferry across the river towards Wivenhoe where you can partake in these activities also. Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve - renowned for nightingales and wading birds offering lots of activities during school holidays, and Mersea Island which is 7.5 miles or a 15 min drive away. The fabulous town of Colchester also sits at your fingertips, showcasing some excellent architecture as well as shops and eateries of the highest order.
