This remote lodge is set beside a very pretty and recently converted Church of St. Agnes where the owners live. This ancient chapel, probably dating from the 15th Century, was saved and "moved stone by stone" in 1926 when the valley was flooded to create the Pentwyn and Pontsticilli reservoirs in the midst of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Now converted to a family home, also offers Bed and Breakfast and still retains the beams, a pew and stained glass windows. In May 2012 it was featured in 'Escape to the Country'.
This is a lovely place to stay, a perfect place for star gazing with no light pollution. Perfect for serious hikers and bikers as the peaks of the Beacons and numerous mountain biking routes are within easy reach. The Taff Trail runs past the house. Also handy for keen fishermen!
Very well equipped for children and within a ten minute drive of Brecon Mountain Railway, the scenic railway that runs along the side of the valley, that children so love.Great for visitors just wishing to be able to explore the area, wonder at the landscape, perhaps wanting to visit relatives in The Welsh Valleys.Ideal for a visit to Cardiff, perhaps for the Rugby or an event at The Millennium Stadium. The closest village is Pontsticill, 2 miles away with two pubs, the Butcher's Arms and the Red Cow.
