Holiday let for self-catering family requiring access to areas of outstanding natural beauty in Somerset, Devon and Dorset. The Old Smithy really is in a central west country location. Set over three floors The Old Smithy provides a diverse range of flexible accommodation to suite virtually any family unit.

The Old Smithy has enjoyed a total refurbishment of the kitchen, fully fitted bespoke handmade pine kitchen units with quartz work top, Quooker tap providing instant boiling water, electric blinds and underfloor heating in the kitchen and dining area, new conservatory carpet, new sitting room carpet and full redecoration throughout the sitting room and stairs.
The Old Smithy has large open plan family kitchen with pine table providing seating for 10. Sun room. Beamed sitting room with hamstone fire place. Cloakroom with shower. Three bedrooms, (plus separate double en-suite annex). Family bathroom and childrens tv, playroom and bedroom on the second floor.
The Folly provides separate accommodation in the form of a double room with an en-suite shower room allowing for those who wish to holiday in a larger groups to be able to have some time away from it all and relax in their own space. The Children's room provides further space for children to play or chill!


All bedding is provided - apart from bedding for the travel cot.

We do ask all guests to bring their own towels and beach towels.

There is off road parking for up to two cars. Plenty of on road parking.

The Old Smithy: The Old Smithy is an individual and interesting 18th Century Hamstone Cottage. Formerly part of a farm, the dairy buildings now form the main house the original black smiths has been retained as a workshop. Needless to say it has enjoyed considerable extension and upgrading! Set in a quarter of an acre of fully enclosed, well stocked and private gardens, this family cottage has a host of character features and lies in a quiet residential area on the southern outskirts of the Market Town of Crewkerne.
The local Hamstone used in the area is a beautiful, rich gold colour and incredibly thickly laid in construction making it cool in summer and snug in winter. The cottage is mainly laid to carpet and enjoys double glazing and gas fired central heating throughout. The kitchen and dining area enjoys underfloor heating.

The Old Smithy is a family home, providing very spacious, comfortable, family accommodation.

The Garden: The Garden is very private and mainly laid to lawn covering about 1 quarter of an acre to include main garden (ideal for football and cricket!) a children’s garden and a BBQ area (adult dining & sunbathing!)
The BBQ area is a fantastic sun trap, equipped with a fridge to keep the essentials cold, together with the comfortable garden furniture and peaceful surroundings, ensures relaxation for all!
The garden has mature boarders, apple trees and a variety of evergreen and perennial shrubs which makes this a wonderfully private and spacious area to enjoy outdoor living.

Additional Accommodation: The Folly was originally a garage (situated at the bottom of the drive on the edge of the garden) now converted into a self contained double room with en-suite facilities, double bed, large dressing table, two comfortable chairs, cupboard and drawers. Also with the added luxury of a wall mounted TV. There is a concertinaed door to walk-in wardrobe with hanging space and drawers. The Folly also has a fully fitted kitchenette area with fridge / freezer, sink, microwave and two oven hobs.


Located in Crewkerne, this vacation home is in a rural area. Broadwindsor Craft and Design Centre and Chard Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Barrington Court and Montacute House. Traveling with kids? Consider Field of Dreams and Mapperton Gardens. Fishing and swimming offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with mountain biking and cycling nearby.
