Just 1½ miles from the coastal village of Carbost on the Minginish Peninsula, with stunning views over Loch Harport and the Cuillin, Trien Lodge is convenient for reaching the village where you have a shop/post office, Talisker distillery, Skye’s only distillery, and an inn which serves food all day and has regular live music. The walking is superb for all levels– Talisker Bay, Glenbrittle Beach, Fairy Pools and the Cuillin for the experienced climbers and so much more. A trip to Dunvegan Castle and the coral beach, Neist Point Lighthouse or the beautiful Waternish peninsula are all recommended and are all on the west side of the island. Portree, the bustling main town, is where you can take a stroll down to the harbour and watch the fishing vessels unload their catch of the day. Take a sea trip from Portree to see the varied sea and bird life and also enjoy the beauty of the rugged coastline. To the north of Portree, is the Trotternish Peninsula, which boasts some of Skye’s most stunning scenery. To the south of the island is Broadford, where you will find ‘The Garden of Skye’. Here you can visit the ruins of Armadale Castle and its lovely gardens. Skye has so much to offer in the way of outdoor pursuits with kayaking, pony trekking, boat trips, fishing and angling available. Shop and pub 1½ miles.
