The owners use eco-friendly products and encourage you to recycle using the bins provided.
The small town of Ashburton, 1 mile away, offers numerous shops including two small supermarkets, fishmonger, delicatessen, greengrocer, chemist, post office, gift and antique shops and two churches. Fruit, vegetables and organic meat are available from a nearby award-winning farm (2018 Observer Ethical Award for Produce).
The River Dart Country Park Adventure Centre, Woodlands Family Theme Park, Plymouth Aquarium, Pennywell Farm, Paignton Zoo, the Miniature Pony Centre and the underground caves in Exeter are all a short drive away. Alternatively you can take the steam train to Totnes or go ‘letter boxing’ on Dartmoor. There are many local golf courses and national hunt racing at Newton Abbot and Exeter, and many local beaches including Torbay and Bigbury, from where the sea tractor will take you to Burgh Island. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
