Please note: This property has a security deposit of £100.. Readyfields Farm is a working farm set on the edge of the Beck Valley. Relax and enjoy the lovely views over the countryside, or with footpaths on the doorstep, explore across some stunning walking country and with no light pollution they are perfect for star gazing. Or if fishing is your thing you can relax on the banks of the River Trent at Kelham and fish for just £5 per day. There is a children’s play area to keep the little ones entertained and if you want to be creative, you can hire the owner’s pizza oven!
The town of Southwell with its stunning minster and quaint shops is 5 miles away, and on route you could visit the local ice cream parlour and sample some local treats and home produced ice cream.
The historic market town of Newark is 7 miles away with its market every Wednesday, or you can picnic in the castle grounds or take a boat trip on the River Trent. There is also the Civil War Museum. Newark showground is home to the Nottinghamshire County Show each May and a whole calendar of other events including international antique fairs.
Also within a short drive are Rufford Abbey, Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest, home of the famous Robin Hood, with its visitor centre. Cresswell Crags offers a great day out too, and for the more energetic, try Sherwood Pines for biking and climbing adventures.
The city of Lincoln is a 25-minute drive with its cathedral, home to the Magna Carta, and Victorian prison and castle. Enjoy a walk around the castle walls taking in stunning views over the city, or browse the many shops and restaurants. Lincoln also has its own showground which is home to the Lincolnshire County Show each June.
The properties are 30 minutes from Nottingham city which has many sporting and theatre venues and a huge range of shopping choices. There are many country pubs in the area including The Caunton Beck and The Plough, and the local pub serving food is just 1 mile away. A local farm shop is just 5 miles away where you can purchase locally sourced produce. The A1 and A46 are 7 miles away giving easy access to the surrounding area, and there are main rail links from Newark Northgate. Pub serving food 1 mile.
