This spacious well-designed holiday home is situated down a quiet lane in the heart of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands, within the stunning scenery of the Cairngorm National Park. It has private parking and a sitting-out area at the rear, and make a great base for a holiday at any time of the year. The light and airy interior is stylishly furnished and has an open plan area with patio doors leading into private garden area. It makes a great base for touring this wonderful area, full of mountains, rivers, forests and abundant wildlife. Founded by the Duke of Gordon in 1776, Tomintoul is situated on the line of the old military road built following the 1745 Jacobite rebellion. An ideal destination for walking, climbing, fishing and skiing (the Lecht and Cairngorm range are just a short drive), within an hour you can also be on the beautiful Moray Coast with its long sandy beaches. Wildlife safaris and clay pigeon shooting are available on the Glenlivet Estate and, of course, the area is in the heart of the Whisky Trail. For budding equestrian enthusiasts there is a good riding centre at the end of the lane while for the two wheeled variety try the Glenlivet mountain bike trail nearby. Tomintoul itself has a good selection of shops, galleries, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants all within a short walk of the properties including the world-renowned Whisky Castle, which offers a choice of over 500 single malts and the expertise of the owner’s vast knowledge. A great place to return to again and again. Shop and pub 150 yards, restaurant 200 yards. Glen Feshie can be booked together with Cairn Daimh (UK5474) to accommodate up to 10 guests.
