The Royal Borough of Windsor is one of southern England’s most popular tourist destinations. A 15 minute drive to London Heathrow and easily reached by good transport links, there’s a great mix of heritage, culture, history and fun to be had. Top of the list should be a trip to Windsor Castle, the family home of British Kings and Queens for over a thousand years, and Her Majesty’s favoured weekend residence. Be sure to stand to attention for the Changing of the Guard Ceremony! Eton, the Magna Carta Monument and Frogmore House are all places of interest close by to Pixie Place.
If you’re looking for an entertaining family day out with children, you can visit the nearby theme parks of LEGOLAND and Thorpe Park. Or if you would rather take life at a more gentle pace why not take a cruise down the river, or become inspired by beautiful gardens such as the Savill Garden in Windsor, Great Park or the National Trust gardens at Cliveden.
The Royal county of Berkshire has numerous opportunities for fishing and boat hire, and if you enjoy spending time outdoors, then you will enjoy the many local paths for walking and cycling. With annual events such as Royal Ascot and the Royal Windsor Horse Show, there is always a reason to visit. Alternatively, central London is accessible by frequent trains or buses, within around 20 minutes travel. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1 mile.
