New Quay Lodge, Flushing

Cornwall. Sleeps up to 8

New Quay Lodge forming part of this prominent building is located right on the waterfront in Flushing, across the river from Falmouth. Overlooking the river from the first floor windows, there is always something to watch in the active harbour. Originally constructed in 1703 this historic building was originally the home of a Merchant Ship Captain and is now Grade II listed and split into 2 separate properties. Flushing is a quiet village with some great village walks around the headland to Mylor. It is also linked to Falmouth via a short passenger ferry ride from the quay which is a short walk from the house. The house is laid out in reverse style with a double and twin bedroom on the ground floor. The twin room also has two pull out beds making this a ideal room for children. The magnificent hallway and grand staircase lead to the living room and kitchen diner at first floor level which have superb views over the river and across to Falmouth. There is a small double bedroom on the first floor, but please do bear in mind that this is a small room with restricted access to one side of the bed. The back garden at New Quay Lodge is simply delightful. A lower patio garden with a higher level deck area which also has views over towards Falmouth. The garden gets good sunshine for much of the day and is a private and tranquil place to relax. Accommodation Ground Floor: Master double bedroom with built in wardrobes, grand twin / quadruple room, utility area, family bathroom with separate shower. First Floor: Double bedroom, shower room, living room, kitchen / dining room. Exterior: Lower level patio area with picnic table. Upper patio deck area with sun house and BBQ.
