Howbarrow Farm, Grange Over Sands

Cumbria. Sleeps up to 2

Our family home for over 25 years,  we think its a glorious and very welcoming place. The farmhouse is over 500 years old and farming has taken place in the valley since the Doomsday Book. An organic small holding since 1995, we have run an award winning box scheme, farm shop and been the home of the " l'enclume farm" for Michelin starred chef Simon Rogan. Exclusively growing produce for his restaurants has brought national recognition to the farm. We now only grow for our family but sometimes seasonal produce may be available to visitors.

The very first people who self catered with us have now visited every year since 1988! "we fell in love with this old Lakeland farmhouse, nestling in a secluded setting overlooking this green lush valley".

Set within the grounds of the organic farm, Howbarrow Farm Cottage is fit for the front of any 'chocolate box', perfect for any romantic occasion, the Loft apartment in the roof of the farmhouse is a wealth of Oak Beams and character features.

Picturesque Cartmel is a short drive or a 30 minute walk, with panoramic views of the Lakeland fells.

Bring your horse on holiday! We have plentiful grazing and stables, vehicle parking and an unparalleled network of panoramic bridle ways including beach access. (We have two horses of our own, so any visiting horse would have company in adjacent field)

Bring your bike on holiday! Wash down facilities and secure storage available.

If searching for somewhere special to escape from the everyday and spend precious time together then you have found it here, quintessential Lakeland on the outside but full of eclectic surprises inside.
