Slee's Meadow View, Bideford

Devon. Sleeps up to 4

Detached single storey property - sleeping 4

Modern property with fabulous views over open countryside

Slee's Meadow View is a modern detached property tucked away in the hamlet of Horns Cross. It enjoys fabulous, uninterrupted and far reaching views of open countryside from the house and garden and is just over a mile from the sea. It is a fantastic place for walkers and dog walkers as the South West Coast Path is a ten minute walk away through gorgeous National Trust owned woodland. Horns Cross is half way between the riverside town of Bideford and Clovelly, a wonderfully preserved village with steep cobbled streets and a beautiful harbour. The surf and sands at Westward Ho! are just ten minutes drive away. However, the real joy of Slee's Meadow View is the rarely crowded Peppercombe Beach. The steep walk through the delightful Peppercombe Valley might not be to everyone's taste but the rocky beach is sensational. At low tide you'll find a wide stretch of deserted sands as well as some of the best rock pooling in the area. Even in high summer you could be alone here. Slee's Meadow View has a large open plan living and dining area. A wood burning stove adds an extra cosy feel for cooler nights, whilst the southerly aspect means that the sun streams in through patio doors on sunny days. The conservatory offers a quiet space to read or take in the views. From here you can step out onto the patio and the large fenced rear garden to eat, enjoy the views or let the children and pets play. Both the bedrooms are spacious and have patio doors leading directly to the garden. The bedrooms are served by a family bathroom. Slee's Meadow View makes a great base for exploring this uncrowded and beautiful corner of North Devon. There are enough attractions to keep the children happy including The Big Sheep and The Milky Way, and plenty of great country pubs, restaurants and walks nearby. The property sits at the end of a narrow private lane.
