Fabulously located in a hilltop position, Stroud Country Manor boasts sweeping views over the surrounding countryside, ideal for those in search of an idyllic getaway. While guests will enjoy a relaxing stay, the home is ideal for those wanting to explore the Cotswolds. A wide variety of popular destinations can be found with easy reaching distance, including Stroud, Painswick and Cirencester.
The attractive Georgian home dates back to the 17th Century and has been beautifully modernised in recent years to provide a wonderful setting for a family reunion or special get-together. On the ground floor is the impressive entertaining space, comprising of a living room, drawing room, fully-equipped kitchen and dining room. There is plenty of space for the whole group to come together and socialise. Stroud Country Manor can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests across its five well-appointed bedrooms, all with beautiful antique french beds and white company linen. There are four king-size double rooms and one single room. The bedrooms share the use of two fantastic bathrooms.
Outside, the home is set within 2.5 acres of beautiful gardens, plenty of room for games and exploring. After action-packed days spent exploring the wonderful surrounding area, guests will enjoy perfect evenings spent taking a dip in the hot tub followed by a delicious meal al fresco on the terrace.
The immediate countryside is lovely, providing a rich mix of activities, marvellous walks and trails around the top of the Valley and on Minchinhampton Common. Golf at Minchinhampton Golf Club and a visit to locals favorite Winstone's ice cream shop is also a must!
Stroud Country Manor is both an idealistic weekend retreat for those wishing to escape from the hustle and bustle of London, and a perfect base for an active mini break.
Stroud County Manor holds an excellent location, set just 10-minutes from the centre of Stroud where a huge variety of helpful amenities, including shops and restaurants, can be found. Alternatively, the small yet thriving town of Minchinhampton, is less than 10-minutes away.
There is plenty to see, do and explore in the surrounding area. Cirencester, often referred to as the Capital of the Cotswolds is just twenty-five minutes away while Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath are all within an hour’s drive. Similarly, some of the Cotswolds most notable villages and towns including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh are again just forty-five minutes to an hour away. The Cathedral city of Gloucester is less than 40-minutes away, with roots tracing back to Roman times, it is a must-visit for any history enthusiasts.
