Situated on the Devon and Cornwall Border, in South Cornwall there is plenty of exploring to do and admire the rich history of this Castle dating back to 1698. On the River Tamar take a boat trip, hire some paddleboards or kayaks. Venture further afield and explore the remarkable South Coast, Whitsand Bay offering four miles of golden sands accessed via a steep cliff path. The nearby South West Coast Path runs along the cliffs, offering walks to Portwrinkle, Downderry, Looe and Polperro. Take a day clay pigeon shooting, wine tasting, try 4x4 off roading all available at the Castle (at an additional cost) or explore the stunning gardens and an afternoon of croquet or bowles on the lawn. If all this sounds too exhausting, a day relaxing by the heated swimming pool is never wasted time. From the moment you park at this magical fairy tale, you ll never want to leave. A welcome like no other, step inside the grand entrance hall to find spacious living spaces, period features and elegance at every turn. The interiors are stylish throughout from the sumptuous drawing room with cosy fire, to the morning room which is perfect to relax and watch the Smart TV, in front of the open fire, if you can move away from the outlook onto the southern terrace. Of course the kitchen is equipped with an AGA, a gas Range oven and hob, two dishwashers, a microwave and an American style fridge/freezer with ice dispenser, so perfect for creating a feast for all the family to enjoy in the dining room with seating for all. The boot room is also a great spot for your four legged friends to bed down for the night. On the ground floor there are five handy separate WC's. Steps lead down to the games room cellar complete with pool table, table football, dartboard, Smart TV, sofa and armchair, perfect for the children to keep themselves entertained. Completing the ground floor is the first of the bedrooms, the Warren with a super king size zip and link bed (which can be made into a twin on request) with TV and en suite wet room with shower and WC. To the first floor, there are eight bedrooms with TVs and glorious views across the river. Tillie and Coryton are super king size zip and link bedrooms (which can be made into a twin on request) with en suite bathrooms with roll top bath, separate shower and WC. Dewhurst is complete with a four poster super king size bed with a dressing room leading to en suite bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Kitson is a super king size zip and link (which can be made into a twin on request) en suite shower and WC. Howard and Victor have super king size zip and link (which can be made into twins on request) en suite bathrooms with bath, separate shower and WC. Parker and Spencer have super king size zip and link (which can be made into twins on request) en suite bathrooms with shower over bath and WC. On the second floor in the castellated turrets, Wyndham is a super king size and Bayly is a twin, perfect for children, they both share a shower room with shower and WC. With 55 acres of woodland gardens and grounds at your feet, take a stroll through Lime Avenue or for a longer walk, to the stunning orchards. Relax on one of the three main terrace s facing towards the River Tamar for a game of croquet or bowles and enjoy the charcoal BBQ or huddle around the firepit on a summer evening. Adjoining the courtyard, the outdoor solar heated swimming pool is the perfect haven to enjoy the holiday of dreams. There s ample parking for 20 cars in the courtyard to the front of the Castle, at the end of a magnificent driveway through farmland also owned by the Estate. There is also charging points for electric cars available. Should you require to arrive via helicopter there is a landing area available.
