Wing in Mid Wales, Brecon

Brecon Beacons. Sleeps up to 4

Peacefully tucked into the rugged countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this property is just 5 miles west of the bustling market town of Brecon, well known for its famous jazz festival, independent shops and cafes, history, military connections and, of course, the magnificent cathedral. The area is perfect for outdoor pursuits too: you can follow the many waymarked paths along with the rivers and canals, countryside and mountain ranges. Hire a rowing boat, kayak or pedalo at Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in South Wales. Travel underground at the National Showcaves Centre, or for the more easy going guests there are some lovely market towns such as Hay on Wye (known locally as the town of books), Crickhowell and Builth Wells, all within easy reach. This self contained accommodation which forms part of a large house is situated on a working farm. It is south facing with beautiful views over the Usk Valley and Pen y Fan. Head under the veranda at the front of the house, step inside and leave your muddy boots behind. There is a door that leads into the open plan living space that s perfect for relaxing after a day of enjoying the Brecon Beacons. The lounge area offers a large sofa where you can sit back and relax in front of the wood burner and enjoy a good film, and in the warmer months open the patio doors to enjoy the gardens. For dining, a large table and chairs are perfect for gathering around and enjoying a hearty supper. For the chef, find a simple kitchen with an electric oven and two ring electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and an open dresser with a full range of crockery. When the day is done climb the stairs where you will find three generously sized double bedrooms. Two bedrooms are situated to the front of the house with stunning views, one of which has an en suite shower room and WC. There is a further double bedroom and also a separate bathroom with a bath and WC. Outside, you have access to a large garden. There is an area where you can relax with a good book and a further area with a wooden table and chairs for summer dining once the charcoal BBQ is fired up. There is off road parking for two cars and storage space for bikes.
