Just 4 miles away is Holmfirth, the TV location of Last of the Summer Wine it's a great place to recreate some of the show s famous strolls, too. Holmfirth has some great shops to get lost in. You are well placed to take some of the extreme sports courses in the area look into caving, hang gliding, mountain biking and more. There are miles of public footpaths to suit every ability and interest, and the quiet country lanes are ideal for cyclists. Also two miles from Slaithwaite is Marsden Moor where there are numerous walks including parts of the Pennine Way. The train station is just 2 miles away with lines to Leeds and Manchester.
