Cottage in South Wales, Abergavenny

Brecon Beacons. Sleeps up to 4

Here you can enjoy Brecon s Dark Sky Reserve at night and many wonderful walks from your front door in the day, before popping into the country pub which is within walking distance down the lane. It is a great place to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park, with attractions all around including The Big Pit at Blaenavon (6 miles), Brecon Mountain Railway (22 miles), Zip World Tower (31 miles), the town of Aberdare (28 miles), and Raglan Farm Park (13 miles) all reachable from your property. For walkers, you can enjoy the Black Mountains (19 miles), Blorenge (5.5 miles), and Pen Y Fan (32 miles). The area also serves cyclists and water sports enthusiasts well, with local rivers of the Usk and Wye Valley five and 30 miles away respectively. Not forgetting the water sports at Llandegfedd Reservoir (8.5 miles) or Llangorse Lake (22 miles), the largest natural lake in Wales. The area is also steeped in history with the fine castles of Abergavenny (6 miles), Raglan, and Crickhowell (11 miles) nearby, along with a Roman amphitheatre in Caerleon (14 miles). This 17th century cottage enjoys stunning views down the valley all the way across to the Malvern Hills and is set within mature enclosed gardens. Step inside the front door and there is ample space in the conservatory to sit and relax at the dining table and chairs whilst looking out at the glorious views of the Usk Valley. This gives access into the lounge, a cosy space finished with comfortable seating and soft furnishings, and a wood burner which will take away the chill on an autumn evening whilst you enjoy a favourite movie on the TV. The kitchen is to the front of the cottage, equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. When the day is done climb the stairs where you will find two bedrooms with garden views a double, and a super king size zip and link (which can be made into a twin on request). Completing the property is the shower room with a shower and WC. Outside the cottage you can relax on the terrace and enjoy the views. There is a table and chairs with a charcoal BBQ perfect for relaxing and stargazing. Alternatively, simply enjoy soaking in the private hot tub. There is roadside parking (subject to availability) opposite the cottage and ample lockable storage for bikes or outdoor equipment.
