Just 10 miles from the Brecon Beacons, this huge home is ideal for those that want to get their walking boots on and cover some serious ground during the day. Nevertheless, there s plenty to do on this vast country estate, including fly fishing (for a charge), the Green Man Maze, and old Victorian rose gardens. Historic market town Brecon is just 6 miles away, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the canal towpath or start the more challenging Taff Trail, which stretches 55 miles along the Taff river down to Cardiff. Kids will be happy at the Cantref Adventure Farm (8.5 miles), while the more adrenaline hungry among you can give the activities at Llangorse Multi Activity Centre (13 miles) a try. Hang up your coats and shoes in the large hallway before heading to the spacious kitchen/diner, where exposed beams and pretty hanging lights mix the traditional and contemporary together perfectly. You ll actually enjoy washing up looking out to the garden at the Belfast sink after cooking up a hearty meal for everyone. There s a utility room off the kitchen/diner that houses a washing machine and WC. Head up the curved staircase to the comfortable lounge, benefitting from fabulous views of the River Usk and warm lighting to keep you feeling cosy whatever the weather. Retire to one of the two bedrooms; the Old Kitchen has a double and a single bed, while the Old Sitting Room features two singles. Two bathrooms are also on this level, so there shouldn t be too many queues! Up on the second floor, the four remaining bedrooms welcome you in; Penry s Room is a tranquil room with one double and two single beds, and the Parrot Room has one double bed. The Bell Room benefits from a hand basin as well as one double and one single bed, and the Attic Room has one double and 2 single beds plus a small single suitable for a child. All of the bedrooms are decorated in a peaceful and sympathetic country cottage style, reminding you of the beautiful landscape just outside your door. There s a further two bathrooms completing the second floor. Outside, the picturesque courtyard has a table and chairs and a large BBQ, making it the perfect spot to enjoy an al fresco dinner in the summer evenings. Take a wander through the estate to discover the beautiful gardens, including the vegetable gardens where you can buy fresh organic vegetables that have been grown there, or take your rackets and balls to the all weather tennis court for a match. There are a range of outbuildings where you re welcome to store bikes and buggies.
