Further afield attractions include the Berwickshire coast where you find the picturesque harbour ports of Eyemouth and St Abb's, or walk along the coastal path to discover some of the highest cliffs in Britain. The great Border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is within easy reach by car as are the delightful towns of the central Borders, Melrose, Kelso and Jedburgh, famous for their ancient ruined abbeys, among much else. The Southern Upland Way passes a few miles away through the Lammermuir Hills, and Edinburgh is only an hour away by car.
