The Byre at Lyserry Barns is one of two holiday cottages which have been tastefully converted from former farm buildings thought to date back to the mid-18th century and once belonged to the Stackpole Estate and is set in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Nowadays, a large part of the Stackpole Estate is cared for by the National Trust and includes the golden beaches of Barafundle and Broadhaven South, and the beautiful Bosherston Lily Ponds, famous for their otters, waterfowl and water lilies. Enjoy stunning walks along the cliff tops and beaches of the coastal path, or through the pretty woodlands and around the tranquil lakes of the estate. Cycle one of the only ’bike-friendly’ sections of the coastal path directly from the cottage (limited access to this route - please check), or enjoy fishing, water sports and horse riding locally.

The Byre is teaming with character and offers a very good level of comfort throughout. There is a spacious galley style kitchen leading through to the beamed living room with a focal wood burner for cosy nights in and a door leading to a south-facing garden for some sunbathing or dining al fresco. The character continues with each bedroom compete with beams and lovingly furnished throughout.

For days out without the car, the Coastal Cruiser on request bus service stops by the cottage to give access to towns, villages and the magnificent Norman castle at Pembroke, birthplace of Henry VII. The atmospheric St Govan’s Chapel nestles into a fissure in the cliffs with origins dating back to the 6th century and is 3 miles away. The Green Bridge of Wales and Stack Rocks, famed for their interesting geology and colonies of nesting seabirds are also 3 miles away. The pretty, medieval walled town of Tenby, with its picturesque harbour, is just a short drive away and from here you can take a boat trip to Caldey Island, home to a Cistercian monastery. Manor House Wildlife Park, Folly Farm, Heatherton, Oakwood Theme Park and Blue Lagoon. Numerous historic castles and gardens, and the Preseli Mountains are also within easy reach. The Boathouse Tearoom (National Trust) at Stackpole Quay is 3 miles away and Ye Olde Worlde Cafe (Auntie Vi’s) at Bosherston is 2 miles. A tea room and a shop selling seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables at the Stackpole Walled Gardens is 1 mile away. Beach 2 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
The Byre can be booked together with Granary Cottage (ref W42531) to accommodate up to 9 guests.
