In addition, the popular wedding venue of Le Petit Chateau and the dog friendly village pub are only 350 yards from the house. The rear patio-style garden is ideal for relaxing in whilst looking across open countryside, and is an ideal area in which to unwind after a day out. Otterburn has its own mill shop with a great outdoor wear section, restaurant and greengrocers.
The village is set on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, which is an internationally acclaimed Gold Tier Dark Sky Park, ideal for astronomers or photographers. Located only 16 miles from the Border Counties, it is an ideal base for families, friends and couples from which to explore the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water and Forest, observatory and the Borders.
Outdoor pursuits are popular in the area and it is a favourite location for wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and adventure seekers. The village of Bellingham is nearby and offers a further choice of pubs, cafés and other local amenities. In addition, the Roman town of Corbridge is a pleasant 30-minute drive away. Hexham Abbey and Rothbury are also easily accessible, with plenty of pubs, shops and visitor attractions. Northumberland has many other fine attractions to offer including Alnwick, with its famous castle and water gardens, the Northumberland Heritage Coast, castles and beaches, which all make a fine day out. Castle Holt is in the ideal location for exploring the whole of this friendly and unspoilt county. Newcastle is also within driving distance, just 31 miles away. Beach 30 miles.
