This traditional terraced Yorkshire cottage has been thoughtfully furnished and boasts some lovely features with a wood burner in the living room, making it nice and cosy for a winter break. Situated in the wonderful market town of Pickering, Rose Cottage is ideal for visiting the east coast, the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. Pickering is famous for the North York Moors Steam Railway, which is just a short stroll away from the cottage, where you can travel through the North York Moors over to Whitby. The train also stops at Goathland, the fictional village known as Aidensfield on the TV programme Heartbeat. There are plenty of independent shops in the town, as well as an antiques hall and a small auction house. For eating out there is plenty of choice locally with several restaurants and a traditional fish and chip shop.
Whitby is only a 30-minute drive north and is famous for being the inspiration for the Dracula books. The Dalby Forest is just a 10-minute drive from the cottage, with its mountain bike trails with over 40 miles of trails to suit all abilities. The cottage has a bike store making it perfect for that great biking holiday. The resorts of Scarborough, Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are all just a short drive away. Ideal for children, Pickering has its own indoor swimming pool as well as the fantastic Flamingo Land theme park, which is only 15 minutes away. The property is in an ideal location to visit stately homes including Castle Howard, Sledmere, Burton Constable and Sewerby Hall. There’s also some great market towns within a short drive such as Beverley, Driffield and Malton. Beach 23 miles. Shop 100 yards, pub 200 yards and restaurant 50 yards.
