With great views towards Woolacombe’s majestic beach, Moongold is ideal for those wanting a beach holiday or for guests wanting a comfortable base with great views to return to after a busy day sightseeing. Located in Woolacombe itself, this ground floor apartment, next to the owner’s home, offers a good level of accommodation, and there is a decked area where you can sit and look out towards the beach whilst enjoying a morning coffee or some al fresco dining. The apartment is set within the same grounds as a small kindergarten, so some noise may be heard throughout the day.
Both the village centre and the beach are a short walk downhill, where there is a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Woolacombe Beach is regularly voted one of the best in the country, with its wide stretch of beach backed by sand dunes and dramatic headlands, it is a stunning place no matter the weather. Ideal for surfing, sandcastle building or simply to take a long stroll along.
For days out, nearby Ilfracombe has all the amenities of a bigger town, with a large range of pubs, restaurants and shops to choose from. The famous Tunnels Beaches is just around the corner, and a short walk away is Ilfracombe’s pretty harbour area with its quay side, lifeboat station and church overlooking the Bristol Channel, all guarded by Damien Hirst’s ’Verity’.
There are numerous attractions within easy reach, including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle and the Lynton to Lynmouth Victorian cliff railway. At Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor and the South West Coast Path are located close by, and on a clear day the views can be spectacular of the surrounding coast and countryside from these well-known walking areas. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes, and RHS gardens at Rosemoor in Great Torrington. There is cycling, golf, horse riding and fishing all available locally. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
