The Bolthole is a traditional, single-storey, fisherman’s cottage situated in a quiet lane just a few yards from the beautiful sandy bay of Balintore. This 19th-century, end-terraced stone cottage has been completely renovated and provides bright and attractive accommodation throughout. The pretty living room has a welcoming wood burner and the kitchen looks out over the cottage garden. The main double bedroom is generously proportioned and very attractively presented with colour coordinated soft furnishings. There is a second single bedroom providing accommodation for up to three guests.
The Bolthole is centrally located in this quaint seaside village, just a few minutes’ stroll to the small harbour and the superb sandy beach. This coastline is completely unspoilt and rarely busy. Dolphins and porpoises are often seen in the bay and there is a wide variety of sea birds seen in the area. Balintore has good local facilities including a pub, restaurant, café and a small local store, all within easy walking distance. The area is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Cycling, hill walking, golf, fishing, horse riding, sailing and canoeing are all enjoyed locally. The nearby town of Tain, just 10 minutes’ drive away has an excellent selection of small shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs as well as a wide variety of sporting and recreational facilities, including tennis courts, golf club and bowling club, all of which are available to visitors. It is also home to the renowned Highland malt whisky distillery, Glenmorangie. Beach 200 yards. Shop 500 yards, restaurant ¼ mile, pub 150 yards.
